Our mission
EORI rules changed after Brexit. GB, XI and EU numbers are easy to confuse — and shipments get stuck when the wrong identifier is used. We publish plain-English guides and a free validation tool so you can move goods with confidence.
We are not a government agency and do not issue EORI numbers. Official applications always go through HMRC or your national customs authority — we point you to the right place.
How we work
Every format, issuing authority and application link on this site is checked directly against the relevant government source — HMRC for GB and XI, the European Commission's EOS registry for EU prefixes, and each country's own customs administration for national application procedures. Country and format pages carry a "last reviewed" date so you can see how current the information is, and we revisit pages when a country's customs rules or portal changes.
The free checker validates format first, then queries the live HMRC and EU EOS services where they're publicly available, so you get a real registration status rather than a guess based on pattern-matching alone. If you spot outdated information or a broken official link, tell us via the contact form and we'll correct it.
